All three of the Longhorns who missed the spring with shoulder injuries — Jackson Jeffcoat, Adrian Phillips and Greg Daniels — will be back in penalty of time for the fall. In fact, Texas coach Mack Brown said all three would be available in June. Brown said they probably could have played this spring, but added that there wasn't any reason to rush them, especially when Texas already knows what it has in Jeffcoat and Phillips. Daniels is an unknown, in that he's making the switch to tight end.<.p>
It's a little bit of a longer wait for star cornerback Quandre Diggs, who is a projected July return, though he should be 100 percent for fall camp.
And in other injury related news, Sedrick Flowers was officially awarded a medical redshirt year this week. So he will be a redshirt freshman, rather than a sophomore, with regard to eligibility. Garrett Gilbert was also given a medical redshirt year, and will graduate this summer. That will allow him to play immediately at SMU, where he will have two years to play two.
In a non-injury note, receiver Marquise Goodwin will sit out the spring game. He has taken part in spring practices, but is also coming off participation in the Texas Relays this weekend.
