Longhorns Release Full Basketball Schedule

Texas basketball has a tough December, with games against Georgetown, UCLA, North Carolina and Michigan State.

And with the release of the conference portion of the Longhorns' schedule — an 18-game round robin, just like last season — we can now see that those games will mesh into a killer January. That slate includes two of the first four conference games against Big 12 favorites Baylor and Kansas.

Texas starts conference play against the former team, beginning at Baylor on Jan. 5. From there, the Longhorns play West Virginia at home, then travel to Iowa State a few days later before having a one week break that leads into a home contest with Kansas. Two days later, on ESPN's Big Monday, Texas travels to Norman for part one of the Red River series, then finishes up with a home game against Texas Tech and a roadie at Kansas State.

February opens with the Longhorns' first-ever Big 12 matchup with TCU, with this game in Austin. The Longhorns then have their second Monday-nighter of the conference season when they travel to West Virginia on Feb. 4. Home games follow against Oklahoma State and Iowa State before Texas gets its second game against Kansas, on Feb. 16, at Allen Fieldhouse. Texas's road game at TCU is next, followed by home contests against Kansas State and Oklahoma to end the month.

The Longhorns have just three conference games in March — at Oklahoma State, Baylor at home, then at Texas Tech — before starting the Big 12 Tournament, which runs from March 13-16. Should the Longhorns make the NCAA Tournament, the now-named second-round will run from March 21-24, with the regionals from March 28-31. The NCAA Final Four in the Georgia Dome is April 6 and 8.
