2014 Recruiting: Receivers

Texas earned an early commitment from one of the state's top 2014 receivers. Who else are the Longhorns looking at?

Expected WRs on the 2014 roster: John Harris, Bryant Jackson, Jaxon Shipley, Marcus Johnson, Kendall Sanders, Cayleb Jones, Jake Oliver (2013 commitment), Jacorey Warrick (2013 commitment)

Needs: At least two. Harris, Jackson and Shipley will be seniors in 2014. And with the Longhorns likely to take one to two more guys in 2013, that leaves a couple openings.

2014s Committed: Lorenzo Joe, Abilene Cooper

Prognosis: This is one of the more difficult positions to gauge because Texas still isn't finished in 2013. Still, judging by the Longhorn offers, Texas plans to take at least two, and could try to dip into Louisiana for at least one of those. Joe is a fascinating watch: he plays quarterback for Abilene Cooper, but at receiver, he's 6-2 with great leaping ability and ball skills. The two Louisiana offers are Cameron Sims, a 6-4 target, and Devante Noil, a slick slot receiver. Kd Cannon is the other Texas offer, and he's an ideal 'X' in the Longhorn system, a deep threat and a playmaker. Obviously, needs could change depending on if Texas can bring in players like Ricky Seals-Jones, and if the Longhorns decide to offer somebody like Devon Allen or Torii Hunter Jr.
