P.J. Tucker MVP

After leaving Tar Heel country with a double-double and the East-West all-star MVP award, P.J. Tucker returned to the Forty Acres.

He's actually been on campus since early-June, taking a few summer classes and working out with his new teammates. But he couldn't pass up the opportunity to trip back to his neck-of-the-woods for an all-star exhibition and so he did.

And, as the final seconds ticked of the clock in the all-star game, that officially marked the end of Tucker's career as a prep.

"It was wonderful," said Tucker's mother when asked about her thoughts on the way her son left the high school game in impressive fashion. "Just a great honor for him to get MVP honors. That's my son and I'm just so proud of him. He's been working really hard."

"And it really meant a lot to him to see Coach Barnes there."

Bet it did.

P.J's mom said she feels perfectly comfortable with sending her son from North Carolina to Texas to play for Barnes and Co.

"Plus, I still get to talk to my son on a regular basis, so it's not as difficult as it might be."

We'll have more on P.J. in this week's Inside Texas Inside Scoop!
