Big OL Enjoys Texas Visit

Shortly before Texas's 45-0 victory over New Mexico Saturday, a surprise visitor made his way to the 40 Acres.

2014 offensive tackle Demetrius Knox hit up Austin for the Texas-New Mexico game, attending alongside early 2014 commitment Daniel Gresham, Knox's teammate at Fort Worth All Saints.

"We have been trying to get down for the longest [time], and and we want to go as much as we can," Knox said. "UT is our No. 1."

So what did Knox think of his visit?

"It was the best college visit I've ever had," Knox said. "The atmosphere was amazing. I got chills when I stepped out on the field, and the coaches and players treated me like family."

But Knox said the visit didn't speed up his decision-making process.

"No, I don't want the attention on me and distract our team from the real goal, and that's to win a state championship," Knox said.

Still, this isn't a situation that should worry Longhorn fans if it draws out a bit. When asked what impact Gresham committing to Texas has on his decision, Knox responded: "It will have a total impact."

"We are going to college together," Knox said.

It probably doesn't hurt that Texas has Stacy Searels working on the big lineman.

"He's a really cool guy," Knox said. "I really want to see them practice so I can see how the coaches act in practice."

Knox said he plans to visit Texas "as much as possible" this season. He wants to make it to Texas's games against Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

"It's going to be hard to beat UT for me right now," Knox said.
