Offensive Tackle Set to Catch Red River Game

Once Sept. 1 hits, life can get a little crazy for a top junior recruit.

And that's precisely what happened with Brenham offensive tackle Austin Schlottmann. At 6-5 285, Schlottmann projects as one of the top offensive tackles in the state of Texas for 2014, a powerful mauling right tackle with the mobility to block on the move.

And he'll be on the move on some Saturdays this fall as well. Schlottmann was invited to attend the Red River Rivalry by Oklahoma, and the family plans on attending. He also has plans to take in a Texas Tech game, when the Red Raiders play host to Texas on Nov. 3.

The Longhorns could be coming along as well, as defensive ends coach Oscar Giles caught Brenham's game against Waller — a 24-14 Brenham win — and has shown some interest in Schlottmann in the past.

Boise State, Arizona State, Vanderbilt and Houston have also made contact, while TCU is starting to show interest as well.
