But apparently, it wasn't a finishing touch, as the Longhorns are still combing through both potential transfers as well as remaining available 2013 recruits. And one of those 2013s still on the table is Chicago wing Martez Walker, who recently visited the Longhorns.
"I loved it down there," Walker said. "I loved everything: the environment, the people and the coaches."
Texas loved Walker too, extending an offer to the sweet-shooting guard who has earned rave reviews for his stroke and his toughness.
"When people first see me, they see a competitor," Walker said. "I play hard, and I play tough."
But while most of his classmates have already signed their college letters of intent, Walker said he isn't in any rush to decide.
"I'm still open … no favorites," Walker said. "I'm just waiting trying to see what all my options are. I want everybody to come forward and see what I've got, and then I can choose from [my options].
"I waited because that's how I wanted this to be," Walker said. "I'm making a big decision about where I'm going to spend the next four years of my life. And that's what I'm thinking about when I go to decide."
