Dunning Gets Texas Offer

2015 Whitehouse safety Justin Dunning was the latest to receive a Texas offer.

In the way of recruiting "telephone," Texas offensive line coach Stacy Searels texted Dunning's coach, who then told Dunning to call Longhorn head honcho Mack Brown. When Dunning reached Brown, the Texas coach offered the 2015 athlete a scholarship.

"It really affected me greatly," Dunning said of the offer. "[Texas was] my fav as a kid."

Dunning said the Longhorns offered him as a safety for now, making Texas his second offer. Texas Tech was the first to extend an offer earlier this fall.

But while Texas was Dunning's first choice as a kid, don't expect that offer to shut everything down. Dunning said he thinks it's too early to start tossing around favorite schools.

"I'm just taking it all in right now," Dunning said.

With Dunning's size (6-3 190) and athleticism, expect him to see plenty more attention before he makes a decision.
