Vahe Commits to Texas

Euless Trinity offensive guard Patrick Vahe committed to the Longhorns on Saturday, giving Texas four offensive line commitments for the Class of 2015.

Vahe committed at Saturday's Texas Jamboree, but kept quiet about the commitment until Sunday afternoon, when he confirmed his commitment to LonghornDigest.com via text message. Vahe is one of the state's top offensive linemen for the 2015 class, perhaps only behind fellow Texas commitment Maea Teuhema.

Vahe hasn't been shy about his love for the Longhorns, calling Texas his favorite after visiting the campus in May. And he was supposed to make his college decision earlier in the week, but elected to wait until Texas Stampede.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound guard from the Dallas-area power has plenty of strength, though his main plus might be as a blocker on the move. Vahe shows the ability to pull and trap and to get to targets on the next level, using his mobility and athleticism to make blocks in space.

Vahe is the eighth Texas commitment in the 2014 class, and will join Teuhema, Aaron Garza and Connor Lanfear as offensive linemen. Teuema and Lanfear are both projected as offensive tackles, while Vahe and Garza are slated as future guards.
