Texas Injury Update

Eight Longhorns will miss Saturday's season opener against New Mexico State with injuries or suspensions.

Linebackers Demarco Cobbs and Deoundrei Davis and safety Erik Huhn are all fighting long-term knee injuries and may not play this season. Additionally, Bryant Jackson (foot), Miles Onyegbule (leg), Josh Turner (hip) and Kevin Vaccaro (ankle) have been declared out for game against the Aggies.

Jackson and Turner are both expected to be key rotational players for the Longhorns. Turner may be ready to play as soon as next week, while Jackson's broken foot should keep him out longer.

Kendall Sanders will also miss the game as he sits out one contest for a DWI arrest this past spring in College Station.

While missing both Jackson and Sanders is a tough blow for the Longhorn receiving corps, there is good news in that both Jaxon Shipley (hamstring) and Marcus Johnson (knee) are listed as probable for Saturday's action.
