Texas sophomore guard Javan Felix had a successful surgery on his left hip performed on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and is expected to make a full recovery. Felix isn't currently practicing with the team, and has started the rehab process, per Texas athletic trainer Eric Fry.
"We won't have a specific timetable for his return, but we are looking forward to getting him back," Fry said.
Sources told LonghornDigest.com Thursday that Felix's injury was not serious, and that the point guard was expected back in the fold quickly, perhaps even by the season opener. Felix, who averaged 6.8 points and 4.1 assists per game a year ago, is one of the Longhorns' most experienced returnees. He'll likely be counted on to provide more of a scoring punch this season.
