Durant Streak Hits 11 Games

This season in the NBA, there are MVP candidates … and then there's Kevin Durant.

The Texas Ex continued his outstanding string of performances with 41 points on Monday night — his sixth game this season of 40-plus points — including two baskets in the final 30 seconds. One of those was the game-winning floater, hit over three defenders, with 1.5 seconds remaining, giving the Oklahoma City Thunder a 111-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

With his 41 points, Durant has 11-straight games of 30-or-more points, the first player to do so since Tracy McGrady had 14-straight in March/April of 2003. Durant's string has including five 40-plus-point games with a high-water mark of 54 against Golden State. No other player in the NBA this year has more than two games with 40 or more points.

But Durant has hardly been jacking up shots; Monday night's game was yet another example of his high efficiency level, with Durant making 15-of-25 shots, including 5-of-7 from behind the arc.
