We caught up with him after his visit to see how things went.
What did they tell you about where you stand with them at the moment?
"They didn't offer me a scholarship because they are still evaluating me. But they said they were going to be back at my school in May."
You obviously spent a lot of time with DL coach Chris Rumph. What was he like?
"He's a really nice guy. I can kind of relate to him because he's like a father figure to me, and I really like that about him. He's really cool."
How did this staff differ from the previous staff?
"This staff was more communicative and could relate to us more."
"I guess their age. I'm not saying the other staff was too old but they can relate to us more. They tried to get to know us better."
I heard academics were really stressed to you all. What did they show you in regards to that?
"We went into an academics center and learned about that. Then we went into the arts center and sat down for a presentation on Texas academics. It opened my eyes and made me realize I need to stay on top of my books."
Did that appeal to you?
"It's not all about football. That's what some kids don't understand but I understand that."
Where does Texas stand with you right now on your list of favorites?
"Texas is at the top of the list."
