Daily Dose

Welcome to the Daily Dose, a daily collection of random musings surrounding Longhorns athletics and recruiting. Today we'll look at how Texas will likely try to close out its 2015 class, which picked up its 10th commitment on Monday in four-star quarterback Zach Gentry.

Right now the Longhorns have commitments from the following:

QB: Gentry

RB: Tristian Houston, Jordan Stevenson, and Kirk Johnson

OL: Toby Weathersby, Ronnie Major, and Patrick Vahe

DE: Charles Omenihu

S: Keivon Ramsey and DeShon Elliott

Texas would like to close out its class with the following:

CB: Two - potentially three if they get two and then an elite level guy wants to join

RB: One – not a must have but would like to add an elite level guy to the mix

WR: Three

TE: One - but could pass all together if it doesn't get who it wants (worst case scenario)

OL: Two more – or one more and potentially two if an elite level guy wants to join

LB: Three – will stick with taking two if needed

DE: One more

DT: Two – potentially three, which could include a JUCO prospect

K: One – total numbers game right now but has which recruit it wants in sight

These are the targets Texas will likely pursue the hardest for each position:

CB: Kendall Sheffield, Holton Hill, Kris Boyd, Roney Elam

RB: Chris Warren, Nick Brossette, Derrius Guice, Rodney Anderson

WR: John Burt, Ryan Newsome, Kemah Siverand, DaMarkus Lodge

TE: Jordan Davis, Will Gragg, C.J. O'Grady, Andrew Davis

OL: Madison Akamnonu, Tyler Carr, Jerry Tillery

LB: Malik Jefferson, Cameron Townsend, Anthony Wheeler, Bo Wallace

DE: James Lockhart, Takkarist McKinley, Keisean Lucier-South

DT: Darrion Daniels, Kingsley Keke, Du'Vonta Lampkin, Daylon Mack

K: Andrew Galitz
