Newsome is Lightning in a Bottle

The Texas Longhorns have ten verbal commitments for the class of 2015. All verbal agreements are non-binding until National Letter of Intents are signed and faxed on National Signing Day the first Wednesday of every February.

Head coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the offensive staff are still in search of their first wide receiver commitment. Texas received huge news when the top quarterback on the board pulled the trigger for the Longhorns, Zach Gentry. Gentry is the kind of player that will attract other top-notch playmakers to Austin. One of those players might end up being Ryan Newsome. Newsome is a four-star standout from Aledo (TX) checking in at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds with 4.41 speed.

"Coach Strong is revitalizing the program," Ryan Newsome said. "All of the coaches and I have a great and respectable relationship with each other. The approach with me is a little different to say the least."

The best way to describe his game is in a word, electrifying. Newsome is working very hard on his route running and trying to become a technician. This technique is something he knows he needs to be able to create separation on the next level.
