Semaj Thomas Lands Texas Offer

Head coach Charlie Strong and linebacker coach Brian Jean-Mary are in need of linebackers for the class of 2015. They recently extended a verbal offer to 6-foot-3, 225-pound Semaj Thomas from Fort Worth (TX) Southwest high school who is currently committed to TCU.

"Well my relationship with coach BJ has really grown over the course of time," Semaj Thomas said. "He is a really good coach, he is really up front with his recruits. What it means for me to have a Texas offer is it made me excited and I'm really thankful."

Thomas will take a visit to Austin in the future but as far as when that is up for discussion.

"I cannot say much about visiting because my parents and I are still talking about what we are doing this summer," Thomas said.

What does the Texas coaching staff see in the standout linebacker? Thomas breaks down his game.

"My strength is my game play," Thomas said. I am really good at using my hands and getting to the ball and tracking the ball down. I have the right speed to be a linebacker and also a defensive end kind lf like DeMarcus Ware. What I lack would be my tackling ability and I would like to improve in that area and also to be able to read offenses."
