Andrew Fitzgerald On his Texas Visit

Head coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff will see over 300 high school football players over the next several days and one of them is 2016 defensive end Andrew Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald will workout on Sunday for the Texas coaches but was able to enjoy Texas earlier today.

Andrew Fitzgerald is a 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end from Flower Mound (TX) Marcus high school. Fitzgerald arrived in Austin earlier today to check out the Longhorns.

"I went with my mom and I can already tell the coaching staff would be some great guys to work with," Andrew Fitzgerald said. "I loved the facilities and was impressed with the stadium. Coach Strong seemed like a good coach and had the right mindset. I only have great things to say about it all. Texas is definitely in my interest but I am still going to different schools."

Where does Texas stand on offering the standout defensive end? It could come down to a few hours on Sunday. Fitzgerald will have the eyes of the staff on him tomorrow.

"He (Coach Chris Rumph) said he wants to see me at camp tomorrow before he says anything," Fitzgerald said.
