Kris Boyd Still Looking at Texas

Head coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff have had a huge last seven days on the recruiting trail. Texas landed four-star prospects John Burt and Du'Vonta Lampkin in a 24-hour span. Kris Boyd is another four-star prospect that is looking at Strong and company.

One look at Kris Boyd and it's easy to see why some of the biggest names in college football are fighting for his services. The 6-foot, 183-pound shut down corner is from Gilmer (TX) He holds verbal offers from Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, TCU, Oklahoma, Missouri, LSU, Florida State and Alabama to name a few.

"It's an honor and I am blessed to have this chance," Boyd said. "I have this once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm just taking advantage of it."

Boyd is one of the most complete and physical corners you will find in the class of 2015. He had a chance to visit Texas with his younger brother Demarco Boyd and the elder Boyd walked away impressed.

"I have a good feeling with coach Strong, the coaching staff and my recruiting coaches, coach [Vance] Bedford and coach [Chris] Vaughn," Boyd said.

Plenty of schools are showing Boyd some attention but a few are turning up the heat as the start of college football is right around the season.

"The schools that are showing the most interest right now would have to be Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Alabama," Boyd said.
