One of the Best in 2016, DT Derrick Brown

Derrick Brown is one of the top players in the country for the class of 2016. The standout defensive tackle checks in from Buford (GA) Lanier High School. Brown, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound interior linemen is attracting early attention from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Texas and Vanderbilt.

Derrick Brown has heavily been recruited by Auburn, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Alabama and Clemson. I would expect to see his name mentioned in regards to the Texas Longhorns fairly soon.

"It feels good man, but I am not into all the attention," Brown said. "Sure, I may be considered one of the top players in the nation now, but I have la long way to go. I am still in development and learning of how to play the game. I feel like they (Colleges) like my game because I have good footwork and my ability to play in different positions."

The Texas Longhorns is a team he doesn't know much about, but he has taken notice of head coach Charlie Strong.

"Man, I like the coaching staff," Brown said. "I haven't visited but having Charlie Strong over at Texas after seeing what he did at Louisville and being able to recruit players here and Florida plays a big part in his success with Texas. Coach [Chris] Rumph is cool when we talk and everything."

Brown isn't exactly sure about the decision, but he does have something in mind.

"Hopefully, next summer I will be ready to decide and pick the place that's right for me," Brown said.
