Louis Kelley has Eyes of Texas upon him

Louis Kelley is a three-star defensive standout from the class of 2016. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety checks in from Pflugerville (TX) and is drawing early attention from Texas, Purdue and Michigan State.

Louis Kelley is already a member of the 2016 Scout.com Top 300, checking in at No 274. Over the next two years, I think it's safe to assume you will see his ranking improve. Texas is one of three teams along with Purdue and Michigan State to show early attention.

"My team is fast," Kelley said. "Our defense is big, fast and physical. On offense, we are looking better with the new system and quarterbacks. They have stepped up their game. We are focused on getting through the season and making the playoff's. I am very excited, and I am going to work hard to make all state and be the best all around safety I can be."

Kelley is a very rangy player with great natural instincts for the ball. He has a high football IQ, good motor and does a great job of reading the quarterback. Texas has taken interest in the Pflugerville High School standout.

"Ever since the Under the Lights camp, coach [Vance] Bedford and coach [Chris] Vaughn and I have been talking a lot more, and they say they want to see me play in person," Kelley said. "I like [Charlie] Strong; he is the read deal. I like the defensive staff very much. Texas, Purdue and Michigan State show me love."
