Getting to Know Tristian Houston

As Texas is set to start the season this Saturday vs. North Texas there is plenty of excitement in the air. Tristian Houston, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound running back who made his intentions known back in April is eagerly anticipating playing for head coach Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns.

Tristian Houston, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound running back checks in from Galena Park (TX) North Shore Sr. He is scheduled to attend this weekend's home opener. Teammates Tyler Moore and Eric Monroe should also be in attendance. For Houston, he is looking forward to the day he runs out of the tunnel.

"It's very exciting knowing that I'm going to be attending a school where a lot of legendary people have attended and played on the field," Houston said. "I have a great relationship with the coaching staff especially with coach [Tommie] Roberson and coach [Chris] Vaughn."

Playing for Texas has always been a possibility for Houston and how it has become a reality.

"After I attended junior day I knew Texas was the place for me," Houston said. "It felt like home. Things the Texas fans don't know about me is I don't like to party, and I don't do drugs. They can expect great things from me. My strengths are running the ball and catching the ball. I would like to work on getting better at pass protection."

Which two uncommitted players would Houston like to be future teammates?

"I would like to see Kendall Sheffield and Malik Jefferson join the family," Houston said.
