Defense impresses safety prospect

Class of 2016 DB Louis Kelley came away very impressed with the way Texas' defense flew around on Saturday.

Pflugerville (TX) safety Louis Kelley attended his first Texas game at Saturday’s season opener against North Texas.

The Pflugerville safety was impressed by the atmosphere and crowd at DKR. Kelley was most impressed by the Texas defense as he watched the safeties throughout the game.

“The defense was real good,” Kelley said. “And the crowd at the game [was good].”

Kelley attended the "Under the Lights" camp in July and said the coaches had been keeping up with him.

During his visit Saturday, he said he had opportunity with to talk with the coaches who told him they would be going to watch him when Pflugerville takes on Pflugerville Hendrickson.

While Kelley is looking forward to the coaches visiting his game, he liked watching them Saturday on the sidelines.

“I liked how the coaches were really into the game,” Kelley said. “The coaches were getting hyped with the players and all into the game. I really liked that.”

After his visit, Kelley likes his chances with Texas but he said he’s still looking around. Kelley said he’s getting looks from Oregon, Purdue and Michigan State.
