Connor Williams Says Yes to Texas

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorn staff have added another key piece to the puzzle as moments ago offensive linemen Connor Williams made the call. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive tackle has decided to join the Longhorn Nation.

Connor Williams checks in from Coppell (TX) at 6-foot-5, 280-pounds. The three-star linemen saw a golden opportunity at Texas he simply could not pass up.

Offensive line coach Joe Wickline has done an outstanding job of not only identifying the top offensive line players, but landing them. Connor Williams is the fifth offensive line player to commit to Texas in the class of 2015. Williams joins fellow linemen Toby Weathersby, Ronnie Major, Garrett Thomas and Patrick Vahe. Williams and family could not be happier about the decision.

"We are all very much excited and blessed," Williams said.

One of the big reasons why Williams decided to play for Texas was the new attitude Charlie Strong and his staff have brought to Austin.

"Just the mentality and mindset around the program," Williams said. "It's headed in a great direction and I am jumping on board with it. He (Charlie Strong) was very excited and said he was talking with the coaches today and told them they really needed me."

Williams is the 15th player to join the 2015 Texas recruiting class. Numbers are getting tight but expect to see the Longhorns take a full class once National Signing Day arrives.
