Cameron Townsend Talks Texas Visit

Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff are in search of big time playmakers at the linebacker position. One player, Cameron Townsend made an unofficial visit to Austin this past weekend as Texas hosted BYU. While the outcome of the game was not what Townsend expected he still had a great visit

Cameron Townsend is a four-star linebacker from Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point High School. The No 14 ranked linebacker made the trip with his father, and they enjoyed their time in Austin.

"I still had a good time," Townsend said. "I did not see very many people I knew this time around as far as recruits go. The first half of the game was probably the best part of the trip for me. I didn't get a chance to talk to them (coaches) after the game but before the game though, we were just chopping it up, talking football and school."

Townsend is not sure when he will make it back to Austin, but he does have one visit lined up.

"My next game is against Stratford, next Saturday," Townsend said. "My next visit weekend is the weekend of the 19th when I take my official visit to Oregon State."
