Mark Jackson Talks Texas HC Charlie Strong

Head Coach Charlie Strong sent out a few verbal offers yesterday, one of which to standout 2016 defensive end Mark Jackson. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Jackson checks in from Cibolo (TX) Steele High School. The defensive end/outside linebacker has enjoyed the recruiting process.

"It's been an exciting experience, and it can only get better," Mark Jackson said."

Jackson is one of the most heavily recruited players in the class of 2016 regardless of position in Texas.

"Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma have offered," Jackson said. "Auburn, UCLA, TCU and Arkansas seem very interested. I found out about the Texas offer when my coach took me into his office and coach [Vance] Bedford was on the phone. It's truly a humbling experience for me and my family to be recognized by such a prestigious institution."

What does Jackson think about head coach Charlie Strong?

"I like his Defensive coaching mindset, and I enjoy watching them play," Jackson said. "I feel that I'm always trying to be quick at everything on the field, whether it be pursuing carries or coming off the ball. I feel my strength is towards pass rushing and using my hands overall.
