Dontavious Jackson with Thursday Night Visit

One of the top ranked players for 2016 is Middle linebacker Dontavious Jackson from Houston (TX) Alief Elsik High School. Jackson is a 6-foot-3, 240-pound four-star player and the No 4 ranked middle linebacker in the country for 2016.

Dontavious Jackson holds offers from Texas, Oklahoma State, Louisville, Louisiana Tech and Houston to name a few.

"I am 6-foot-3, 230-pounds," Jackson said. "I play inside linebacker, running back and wide receiver. We are 5-0 and play Fort Bend Hightower."

Jackson is a marked man each and every game, but has done a great job of taking on the double and triple teams and does not over pursue.

"Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas and TCU have offered," Jackson said. "I previously visited A&M, Texas and Oklahoma State. As of right now I have a Houston visit game scheduled for Thursday."

Jackson says he has been impressed with how many true freshman are coming in and having an impact on their team. Linebacker will be an important piece of the puzzle moving forward for Texas and head coach Charlie Strong. Jackson is a fan of the new head coach and the Longhorns.

"I love it and the way he is running the program," Jackson said. "
