"We are 3-2," Garcia said. "We play John Jay High School next. I have played well. I've made a bunch of tackles. It's hard for teams to run down the middle on us. I have provided a lot of pressure on the quarterback. I need to work on staying up field on the shoulder of the quarterback. That will make catching him a little easier."
The recruiting process is just getting started for Garcia, as is the case for many 2016 high school football players.
"The schools that are showing a lot of interest are Baylor, Colorado, Northwestern and Texas," Garcia said. "I've visited Baylor and Texas. I do plan to, hopefully, visit Colorado and Northwestern."
Garcia has kept a close eye on the Longhorns this season.
"What has surprised me is how Texas has started, but its fine," Garcia said. "It takes time for the team and a new head coach to gel because that's how it was last year for us at Stevens. Coach Strong, and his staff seem to hold high standards for the players and I like that. It takes discipline to win games; coach Strong is doing it right."
