Jalen Hurts Visiting Texas Again

Jalen Hurts is the No 17 ranked quarterback in the class of 2016. The four-star standout signal caller will visit Austin this weekend as Texas welcomes in Baylor.

Jalen Hurts is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound quarterback from Channelview (TX) with interest from Mississippi State, Arkansas, Penn State, Texas and Houston. Oregon called earlier in the week to check on Hurts and his interest.

"I mainly just play quarterback, safety sometimes but not often," Hurts said. "We are 5-0 and 1-0 in district. We play Beaumont Westbrook on Friday. I have played ok so far, had a pretty good game last week. I was 21 of 30 for 373 and four TD's, one int. I had 21 carries for 186 yards and five td's, plus two 2pt. conversions. I threw my first pick of the year; I don't like throwing picks."

Hurts and his family will be back in Austin this weekend.

"I'm going to the Texas/Baylor game this week," Hurts said. "Hoping to go to a Mississippi State game and I like to go see Penn State play Ohio State. Thus far, I have been impressed by the PLAY of Arkansas, Mississippi State and the whole SEC conference. The conference is showing why they are usually championship contenders."

Coach Charlie Strong has made a big impact on numerous recruits since he arrived in Austin and Hurts is no different.

"I feel that Coach Strong is a great coach," Hurts said. "He is very down to earth and about business. He wants to win and more importantly have respectful, discipline, and well-rounded student athletes in his program. Coach Strong wants his players to be successful in life, which is a personal goal of mine."
