DeAndre McNeal Top Target for Texas

Head coach Charlie Strong is in search of dynamic offensive weapons, and they may have found one in 6-foot-3, 225-pound DeAndre McNeal. The four-star standout plays both sides of the ball but will pursue the wide receiver position at the next level.

DeAndre McNeal is the No 26 outside linebacker in the country for 2015. He is from Mesquite (TX) Ralph H Poteet High School and holds offers from Texas, UCLA, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Tennessee, TCU and Oklahoma State to name a few. McNeal gained 988 yards from scrimmage and scored 20 total touchdowns in 2013. He caught 40 passes for 582 yards and 11 touchdowns, while rushing for 406 yards and nine scores on 6.3 yards per carry.

"We are 3-1, and I've played great but there is no I in team especially when it comes down to the Poteet Pirates," McNeal said. "It all starts with a great off-season, two-a-days and then the first week of action. I've been doing great at catching the ball, making people miss, scoring touchdowns and being able to be mentally strong on both sides of the ball. What I need to work on is chasing the play."

McNeal is being recruited by Charlie Strong and Brian Jean-Mary. He will take his official visit to Texas on November 8th and likes what he has seen from coach Strong.

"Discipline is not an issue to me," McNeal said. "We are a very loyal and disciplined team here at Poteet so being organized and structured is something I want to be apart of."
