Matthew Merrick Visits Texas Again

Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff are in search for as many playmakers on the offensive side of the ball as possible. Quarterback Matthew Merrick could be one of those players in the class of 2015.

"The game was very exciting," Merrick said. "It was a good game with lots of offense. The crowd was so loud, and the whole place was bouncing. As a recruit all, you can think about is how you would affect the game being played when you get a chance. I have a good relationship with coach [Shawn] Watson and Riley Dodge. Coach Watson came and talked to my dad and me for twenty minutes before the game, which was cool. I can see the program is on the rise."

Merrick and his teammates have had a rough start to the season but are working hard to finish strong.

"My season is going well," Merrick said. "My team is struggling with injuries, so we are 4-4. I am doing a good job of leading the team as quarterback and making all the plays I can to help my team win."
