Chris Owens Hopes to Hear from Texas

Chris Owens is a two-way standout checking in from Arlington (TX) Lamar High School. Owens, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound defensive tackle by nature also plays on the offensive side of the ball where he has been dominating during his junior season.

Chris Owens is already 6-foot-4, 275-pounds. With two years of high school, football left he could find himself on either side of the ball at the collegiate level.

"Right now I am 6'4, 275-pounds and I have maybe 35-40 pancakes on the season," Owens said. "I have done very well on outside zone and blocking in space, and pass blocking. I am still working to improve on my run blocking."

Owens has gone under the radar for most of his junior season. He has visited TCU and is planning more visits.

"This year I have only attended games at TCU, in which I felt the culture was great," Owens said. "I am planning to go to Oklahoma State and Purdue soon. I have no offers, but the most interest is from BYU, Fresno State, TCU, Illinois, Boston College and Northwestern. I hope to hear from Texas and LSU coaches."
