Cameron Townsend Enjoys Austin

Outside linebacker is one of the most recent additions to the Texas commit list. Townsend made an unofficial visit to Texas this weekend, his first trip since announcing his intentions to join the Longhorn nation.

Cameron Townsend made his first visit to Texas since announcing his decision to play for Charlie Strong last month. Townsend checks in from Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point.

"I was there with my parents, uncle and one of my teammates," Townsend said. "The crowd was pretty live. I love how they get loud for third, and fourth down situations. During the game I was just thinking, man I have a high standard to live up to after Jordan Hicks graduates."

Texas hosted more than a few current commits, and Townsend had a chance to meet them.

"As far as the recruits, I was able to have a good conversation with the commits," Townsend said. Townsend spent time with Collin and Kirk Johnson as well as Zach Gentry.

Charlie Strong and the rest of the staff had a message for Townsend after the game.

"I got to tell the coaches congrats after the game," Townsend said. "They told me they cant wait to have me up here, and to keep trying to recruit the other players."
