Zach Shackelford Loves UT Visit

Class of 2016 offensive lineman Zach Shackelford (Belton, Texas) made his second trip to Austin to watch the Longhorns this season. He recaps his visit with HornsDigest.

The Longhorns had a very successful weekend both on and off the field, and that included getting high praise from Shackelford, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound junior offensive lineman from up the road in Belton.

"It was really impressive how they won against a team that is very tough," he said. "They played some really great defense and they established their run game early.

"The crowd was awesome. The fans were crazy."

Shackelford has become very familiar with Texas' way of doing things since the summer when he came down for a camp. He's didn't get a chance to talk with the coaches, but hopes thing will progress quickly.

"Not sure where I stand recruiting wise with them," he said. "Kansas State has offered. A lot of teams are showing interest but mostly Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Purdue, Texas Tech and Baylor."

Shackelford is one of several 2016 offensive linemen that Texas has acknowledged interest in along with Greg Little, J.P. Urquidez, Patrick Hudson, and Derrick Brown.
