Catching up with Connor Williams

Charlie Strong and Joe Wickline have hit a home run on the offensive line for 2015. One of the players Texas is bringing in this year is offensive tackle prospect Connor Williams. He recently made his official visit and came away impressed.

Connor Williams is a three-star tackle prospect from Coppell (Texas) The 6-foot-5, 275-pound Williams is the No 6 ranked tackle prospect in Texas.

"It was organized well and everything was extremely nice," Williams said. "We had a lot of time to visit the entire coaching staff and get to know them better. We also got to hang out with some of the players. Everyone was very positive."

Malik Jefferson, Ryan Newsome and Darrin Kirkland all made official visits the same weekend and have yet to make public announcements. Quincy Vasser and Tristan Nickelson joined Williams as the trio will all enroll in January.

"All the guys I met were really good guys," Williams said. "I think we all got along very well and I think everyone was impressed with all of it."

Williams said the best part of the trip was eating in the presidents office and lunch at Top Golf. He was able to spend lots of time with his future position and head coach.

"They are very easy to talk to," Williams said. "I think they are very honest about where the team is and where it's headed and how I can contribute. I'm excited to get to work and play for these coaches."

Williams had one message for the Texas fan base.

"Do what I do and believe in Strong," Williams said.
