The 6-foot-2, 180-pound cornerback had a final two of Texas and Florida State respectively. In addition to the Longhorn and Seminole, Davis had offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and Miami to name a few.
With more and more teams finding bigger wide receivers on the perimeter it's equally important for coaches to find bigger corners to match up. Davis is a long, lengthy and physical corner. He is exactly what defensive backs coach Chris Vaughn and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford wanted - a guy who can match up one-on-one from a talent and physical standpoint with the bigger wide outs of today's game.
Davis comes from one of the top high school football programs in the country. He has the toughness and knows what it means to be a champion. Quiet off the field, Davis does his talking on the field. He is a natural leader that does so with his actions. Davis joins Jamile Johnson and DeShon Elliott in the Longhorn secondary. Now that Davis is off the board Texas will turn all attention towards Tim Irvin, Kris Boyd, Holton Hill, DeAndre Baker and Mark Fields at the corner position.
