Nation's No 1 RB wraps up UT official visit

The nation's No. 1-ranked running back has the nickname "Soso" - even though he's anything but so-so. Plano West 5-star Soso Jamabo started his official visit to Texas a day early - Thursday - so he could be back in Plano for his football banquet Saturday night.

For all the details of how the visit of Sotonye Jamabo concluded Saturday - and why I like Texas' chances in this recruiting battle - CLICK HERE.

Jamabo is one of the most versatile offensive players you will find in the class of 2015. He has incredible instincts coupled with great hands and size. He can line up in the I-formation or out wide as a pass-catching threat. He could play a number of roles in any offense and will be a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Jamabo is the No 1 running back in America with offers from Baylor, Oregon, Notre Dame, UCLA, Texas A&M and Texas to name a few.

Bio Blast:

Has that special ability with the ball in his hands to be able to make the spectacular play, either by running around or through tackles and then showing the speed and open field vision to take it to the house. He is a big back, who will draw comparisons Eddie George, because of his 6'3 size and his style of play, but unlike some of these bigger backs from yesteryear Jamabo is an excellent receiver who can make plays in the vertical passing game.

Stat Tracker:

2014: Jamabo capped a stellar high school career with his best season as a senior, when he rushed for 2,279 yards and 44 touchdowns on 9.7 yards per carry. Jamabo also caught 16 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns. He finished his high school career with 5,053 rushing yards and 78 touchdown runs.

2013: As a junior, Jamabo rushed for 1,077 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. Averaged 8.89 yards per carry. He also had in 225 receiving yards.

2012: As a sophomore, Jamabo rushed for 1,697 yards and 24 scores and hauled in over 450 receiving yards and scored an additional four times to earn 10-5A District Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State honors.

Texas appears to be getting strong consideration from Jamabo as well as Scout's No. 6-ranked running back nationally, Chris Warren, as well as Scout's No. 22-ranked running back Nicholas Brossette.
