Jamile Johnson Player Preview

Jamile Johnson is one of the most underrated players in the state of Texas. The 2015 standout safety prospect checks in from Dallas (TX) at 6-foot, 200-pounds. Johnson will be one of many making his official visit to Texas this weekend.

Jamile Johnson has everything you need in a safety. He has size, toughness and tackling ability that all coaches look for in the last line of their defense. Johnson has offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, TCU and Wisconsin to name a few.

Texas has two safety prospects committed with Johnson and DeShon Elliott.

Scout.com Take:

Plays all over the defensive backfield. He spends time at corner, but also lines up at a safety and spent some time in the box tracking down ball carriers as well. He is a very good open field tackler and has decent coverage skills. His versatility is definitely a bonus and something that makes him an appealing recruit in the eyes of college programs. He could end up at safety, but it is too early to rule out corner.
