Kai Locksley: Texas Official Visit Preview

Kai Locksley will be one of a dozen or more top-flight athletes in Austin this weekend for his official visit. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound standout committed to Florida State back in July, but I would not expect to see it stay that way moving forward.

Kai Locksley checks if from Baltimore (MD) The Gilman School. He has tremendous athletic ability, great size and hands. Locksley has played quarterback the past two seasons, but a position change might be in store at the next level.

Locksley holds offers from Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, Louisville and Texas to name a few.

Locksley played wide receiver in the UA All-Star game in early January going against some of the top defensive backs in America and more than held his own.

Scout.com Take:

Locksley was a first-year starter as a junior and was inconsistent, but the talent is unmistakable. He has a strong arm, shows good touch when need be and can make yards with his feet, although he looks to throw firsts when scrambling. He needs to learn to have his feet and arm work in unison. When he steps into throws, he is very good. He is comfortable in the pocket, and when throwing on time, his accuracy is also good.
