Madre Harper Ready for Junior Days

Madre Harper is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback prospect from Arlington (TX) Arlington-Lamar. The 2016 standout had a productive junior season and is looking forward to junior days.

"Recruiting has gone pretty good," Madre Harper said. "Very exciting to see all the coaches coming down to see me and my teammates and overall just excited."

Harper was able to attend numerous games last season and enjoyed every one of them.

"The games I went to were Texas, Kansas State, LSU, Oklahoma and Central Arkansas," Harper said. "The games were just crazy and lots of excitement and the crowds energy was great with a real winning atmosphere."

Harper attended several junior days last season including Baylor and Oklahoma State and is looking forward to the same this year.

"My upcoming junior days will be Kansas State, SMU and maybe Iowa," Harper said.

Harper does have an interest in the Longhorns.

"I am excited about [Charlie] Strong," Harper said. "I want to see how he's going to improve the program. He's got some great athletes on his hands so it will be interesting to see how they do in the upcoming season. I am waiting for someone to come down so I can start building a relationship with them."

What do college coaches see in Harper's game?

"I would describe my game as smooth," Harper said. "I am aggressive and always giving110% running across the field to make tackles and running down on kickoff and smacking someone then getting right back on defense and locking up the best wide receiver."
