Brandon Stephens Talks Texas

Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns are wasting little time on the 2016 recruiting trail. Numerous verbal offers have been sent out and Brandon Stephens was fortunate enough to land one.

Brandon Stephens is a 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back from Plano (Texas) Plano Senior. He holds offers from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio State and now the Texas Longhorns.

”The recruiting process is getting stressful and I expected it around this time of year and its only going to get more stressful but its exciting as well,” Stephens said.

Stephens has visited Baylor in the past and will visit again in the future as well as SMU.

”I visited Baylor when they played Kansas at home,” Stephens said. “I will be attending Stanford’s junior day on the 28th as well as SMU.”

Stephens is not as familiar with the Texas coaching staff but he does have a relationship with Jay Norvell.

”I am excited about meeting the coaching staff at Texas,” Stephens said. “Coach [Jay] Norvell is an awesome guy!”

What do college coaches love about Stephens and his game?

”For someone that hasn’t seen me play, I’m a patient, physical runner. I also have good vision and can kill a defense in so many different ways.”
