Texas brought in one of the top defensive back groups in America in 2015. They will look to do the same in 2016. Texas has extended offers to Saivion Smith, Eric Cuffee, Khalil Ladler, Jared Mayden, Deontay Anderson, Christian Wallace, Eric Monroe and Brandon Jones. Another player to keep an eye on as the summer months approach is 6-foot, 178-pound Parrish Cobb. He checks in from Waco (Texas) La Vega.
”It was a great experience,” Cobb said. “I learned more about the college than I knew. I can tell the coaches are really trying to turn the program around. They aren’t just planning to turn it around and leave. I like how they actually want to be a part of the Longhorn family.”
Cobb is a cousin to cornerback Eric Cuffee. The two spent most of the time with each other and safety Christian Wallace from Kath Tompkins. Last year’s prized recruit Malik Jefferson was able to spend some time with Cobb during junior day.
”The best part was after the trip when I was talking one on one with Malik Jefferson,” Cobb said. He was giving me a lot of insight on the college side other than just football. He also let me know how the training was and how much the coaches and players push you. My type of organization.”
