Buechele Talks Texas

Head coach Charlie Strong and the Texas Longhorns received a huge verbal commitment last month with early enrollee quarterback Shane Buechele. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound signal caller checks in from Arlington (Texas) Lamar. Buechele recently visited Texas for junior day and came away impressed.

Shane Buechele is one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. Buechele made his intentions known to join the Longhorn Nation on February 23rd, 2015. Buechele battled the weather but was able to attend the Texas junior day.

”I am very happy my mom and I ended up going to the junior day,” Buechele said. “I had a great time hanging out with the players that were there and the coaching staff. I got a vibe from the coaching staff like always. It’s a great group of coaches. They would come up to me and say welcome to the family. They made us feel at home.”

Buechele had plenty of time with the entire staff but spent most of it with Coach Shawn Watson.

”I spent most of my time with Coach Watson,” Buechele said. “Still trying to build the best relationship we can. The best part of the trip was the whole weekend. I love being down there and I can’t pick one thing I liked the most. I spent some time with a couple players, trying to put a good word in. We will see.”

Buechele excels on the baseball diamond as well.

”Baseball is a big thing for me at the moment because we are right in the middle of the season but I will be working on everything from my footwork, pocket presence, arm strength and a lot more,” Buechele said.
