NO 1 TE Prospect Talks Charlie Strong

Marcus high school in Flower Mound (Texas) is home to one of the most dynamic tight end prospects in the country. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Kaden Smith is the No 1 tight end prospect for the class of 2016. Smith checks in at No 46 regardless of position and made the final roster of the Opening.

Kaden Smith has fantastic upside. He has a large frame, hands/concentration and the ability to block. Smith is very versatile and can beat the defense in a number of ways. Linebackers can’t stay with him and defensive backs aren’t big enough to challenge him for the ball.

Smith can line up all over the field from traditional tight end to wide receiver or h-back. He was led the team in catches (40), yards (640) and touchdowns (8) after his sophomore season.

”I am very versatile,” Smith said. “I can block, beat safties with my size and beat the linebackers off the line.”

Smith had a strong junior season with 35 catches for 540 yards. Texas is in need of a pass catching tight end and Smith has made several trips to Austin.

Charlie Strong is bringing Texas in a great direction,” Smith said.
