Four-Star OL on Longhorns

Texas was the 25th program to extend a scholarship offer to Chris “Big Cat” Owens. Owens, four-star offensive linemen checks in at 6-foot-4, 280-pounds from Arlington (Texas) Lamar.

Chris Owens holds offers from some of the top programs in the country. Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma and Texas are just a few that will battle it out for his services.

Lamar high school should sound familiar for all Texas Longhorn fans. Texas verbal quarterback commitment Shane Buechele also plays for Lamar. Owens more than likely will start out on the inside on the college level.

”The strength in my game is pass blocking because of how good my footwork is,” Owens said. “I want to work on my run blocking. I am a dynamic player because of my athleticism.”

Owens will get plenty of opportunities to visit with Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff in the coming months.

”I love Coach [Charlie] Strong and seeing the program come up,” Owens said.
