Sunshine State WR Lands Texas Offer

The University of Texas extended numerous verbal offers over the last 24-hours. The most recent offer is to a standout wide receiver in the state of Florida.

Charlie Strong and the Texas coaching staff has been hard at work on the recruiting trail. Texas has extended five verbal offers in the last 24-hours. Tight end prospects Irvin Smith, Peyton Aucoin, Zarrian Holcombe and now wide receiver Darnell Salomon have offers from Texas.

”I was real excited for this offer especially from it coming out of nowhere,” Salomon said. “My head coach just told me I have to give coach [Vance] Bedford a call because he’s going to offer you.”

Salomon doesn’t know much about Texas but he knows they recruit the sunshine state.

”A very good school that recruits a lot of kids from South Florida,” Salomon said. “I really haven’t read a lot about him [Charlie Strong] but from what I’ve heard he’s a real good coach.”

Alabama has long been thought to be the leader to land the 6-foot-2, 205-pound wide receiver from Miami (Fla) Miami Central. He may take a summer visit to Austin.

”Most likely during the summer time where I have a break from school,” Salomon said.
