Standout DT Visits Texas

Mike Williams is the No 14 ranked defensive tackle in the class of 2016. The four-star standout checks in at 6-foot-3, 270-pounds from Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints’ Episcopal School.

Mike Williams is a wanted man with over 20 offers from teams such as Baylor, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas to name a few.

”When I first got there I went and talked to coach BJ (Brian Jean-Mary) for a while then talked to coach [Charlie] Strong for twenty minutes,” Williams said.

While many were impressed with the offense; Williams feels they still have work to do in the trenches.

”I think it’s better that’s it,” Williams said. “Opened up a bit but still need better line play. Coach Strong is that man. I got to talk to him for a while with my family, and I can tell he is a great leader. I saw a lot of signees and got to talk to Charles O [Omenihu] it was all fun.”

Texas will try and land two defensive tackles this recruiting cycle and has extended offers to five. Kendell Jones, Ed Oliver, Mike Williams, Jordan Elliott and Derrick Brown have been offered by the Longhorns. Look for this number to increase as we get into the summer months.
