James "PJ" Locke #LETSRIDE Series Continues

Another piece of the puzzle was added late during the 2015 recruiting cycle when James Locke made his intentions known to join the Longhorn Nation. Locke will join the rest of his future teammates in the next couple of weeks in Austin to begin their college career.

James Locke has great burst, closing speed and tackling ability. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound Locke checks in from Beaumont (Texas) Central Senior H.S. The standout defensive back is ready for his college career to begin with Texas.

”Just psyched about getting the opportunity to live my dream at my dream school,” Locke said. “Being able to live on my own and put the tools to use that my parents instilled in me as a little kid. Never forgetting where I came from and always be open to listening. Focusing on getting bigger, faster and stronger. Working on the change of direction and 10-yard burst.”

Locke has steady relationships with his future coaching staff.

”My relationship with the coaches is good, they check on me now and then and vice versa,” Locke said. “The fans can expect 112% effort out of me on and off the field,” Locke said. “A smart, good decision-making young man with a great attitude and influential to the youth.”

Scout.com Take:

Has a fun highlight film to watch. He is a very aggressive and quick defensive back prospect. He can change gears quickly, showing outstanding burst and the unique ability to change direction transitioning out of his back pedal. He has unquestionable closing speed and will just explode through ball carriers, delivering booming hits. He takes very good angles when making stops and is not afraid to get inside the tackle box and muck it up. – G. Powers.
