At 6-foot-1, 196-pounds, Jeffrey Okudah is one of the top athletes in the class of 2017. He could end up on either side of the ball at the next level but primarily projects on the defensive side of the ball. Texas has extended the two-way standout an early offer.
”I talk to Coach [Vance] Bedford, he's a great guy,” Okudah said. “Although we don't often speak, every time we speak it's easy to relate to him. Therefore, I look highly of them.”
Okudah holds Texas in high regards early on in the recruiting process.
”Texas is as prestigious a program as you can get by staying in-state,” Okudah said. “The facilities and stadium are the state of the art, and Coach [Charlie] Strong is a great guy. When you talk to him, he's not as stern as he's perceived to be.”
Okudah has not set his schedule, but he will be very busy trying to get to as many schools on his list as possible.
”I'll be down in the summer and throughout my recruiting process,” Okudah said. “I'm hoping to see them again this spring at one of my spring practices. I'll be visiting a lot of schools this summer. I'm not even sure which ones yet. So I'll be releasing them as I go and get things finalized.”Bio Blast:
2014: As a sophomore, Okudah caught 19 passes for 460 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 24.2 yards per catch.
