Florida WR an Option for Longhorns?

Tre Nixon (Viera, Fla.) is one of the most sought after wide receivers in the entire country.

The Longhorns saw his potential early on and offered him ahead of touted receivers Dee Anderson, Tren’Davian Dickson, A. J Brown, Darnell Salomon, Zarrian Holcombe and Eddie McDoom.

In addition to Texas, Nixon, the No. 9 WR in Florida, No. 53 WR in the country, has offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Cal, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others.

So where do the Longhorns factor in with the 6-foot-1, 170-pound speedster? Well Nixon tells HD that he has been in contact with the staff and that things are going well.

In fact, Nixon said he would take an unofficial visit to Texas on June 13.

Nixon attended games at Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Duke an Penn State last season.
