Longhorns win 10 Big 12 Titles in 2014-15

Longhorns record double-digit league titles for the sixth time since the formation of the conference in 1996-97.

When Texas' baseball team finished its 4-game sweep through the Big 12 Tournament with a 6-3 victory over Oklahoma State in the championship game on Sunday it gave UT its 10th Big 12 Conference championship during the 2014-15 calendar year.

In addition to Augie Garrido's program winning yet another league title, Texas also won them in Volleyball, Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving, Women's Indoor Track and Field, Men's Indoor Track and Field, Men's Golf, Rowing, Women's Outdoor Track and Field and Men's Outdoor Track and Field.

This is the sixth time since the Big 12 formed in 1996-97 that the Longhorns have recorded at least 10 conference titles in a single season, which includes both regular season and postseason or tournament championships.

To put that number into comparison, former conference members Nebraska (twice) and Texas A&M (once) are the only other schools to win at least 10 league titles in a year.

The Longhorns hold the single-season league record for most Big 12 titles with 13 in the 2005-06 season. Texas won a dozen in 2002-03, 2001-02 and 1998-99, and 10 in 1996-97.
